The main directions of the Institute's activities:

• Development of powerful microwave technology, charged particle accelerators and other electrophysical installations;
• Research in the field of high-power radiophysics, dynamics of charged particle beams, physics of gas discharges in the fields of powerful microwave radiation and the development of methods for their application;
• Development of installations for microwave and radiation sterilization of medical devices, food raw materials and food products;
• Development of equipment for the neutralization of waste from industrial and agricultural enterprises, medical institutions;
• Development of installations for X-ray, radiographic and tomographic control of baggage, cargo and vehicles;
• Development of equipment based on shock-wave electric pulse technology for use in medicine, production and transport;
• Development of equipment and technologies for material modification.
