The Tsentrosoyuz of the Russian Federation is a non-profit organization that since 1898 has been the supreme coordinating body of consumer cooperation in Russia, defending the interests of representatives of voluntary unions of consumer societies in our country. Consumer cooperation in Russia is a socially oriented system of economic development of territories, ensuring employment of the population, establishing stability in society and developing the infrastructure of the regions. The structure of consumer cooperation in Russia includes voluntary associations of consumer societies and unions of consumer societies of different levels, the hierarchy of which is headed by the Tsentrosoyuz.

Consumer societies and their unions are created by initiative citizens to meet their own needs for high-quality goods and services of the widest profile. Members of consumer societies are shareholders.
